Since Listing: Colorado Preservation, Inc. has worked with the current owner, Denver Water, to prevent demolition, including completing a State Historical Fund grant application that awarded Denver Water funds for a structural assessment. The assessment was completed in 2005, and Colorado Preservation, Inc., Denver Water, and Jefferson County Open Space are working to find a solution for preservation of the building. Colorado Preservation, Inc., in partnership with the Jefferson County Historical Commission, also wrote a successful application to the National Park Service Rivers, Trails & Conservation Assistance Program for help in developing a plan for the larger historic district. Numerous partners, including Denver Water, Jefferson County Open Space, Jefferson County Planning Department, Jefferson County Historical Commission, Colorado Preservation, Inc., the U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, and community organizations and residents are currently working on the plan, completed in 2006. The Jefferson County Historical Commission applied for and was awarded a State Historical Fund grant to resurvey the historic district, amend the National Register designation for the district, and develop a community outreach and education program.
