In 2000, the Church donated the building and property to the community, creating the Grant Avenue Community Center & Sacred Place, Inc. For nearly a century, this building has served as a focal point for social, educational, health-related, and spiritual gatherings, as well as a meeting space for state and national conferences.

Since Listing:
Historic Denver, Inc. and Colorado Preservation, Inc. have worked to assist the community center with fundraising and organizational strategies. The State Historical Fund awarded a $136,500 grant for restoration and the Community Center raised an additional $175,000 for interior and exterior improvements. With these improvements, use of the church and community center has increased. Fundraising efforts continue for infrastructure upgrades and completion of window restoration. As of 2005, the Community Center is used by more than twenty local nonprofit organizations, serving approximately 2,000 people each month. The sanctuary contains magnificent original stained-glass windows and one of Colorado’s finest historic pipe organs. The building is still used for weddings, as well as for weekly church services for the Grant Avenue United Methodist Church and Pathways Church.
