    Riverside Cemetery Needs Attention

Riverside Cemetery, Colorado’s oldest operating cemetery, made the Endangered Places List of 2008 because of deferred maintenance, the result being the deterioration of significant monuments and the landscape as a whole. Colorado Preservation, Inc. has been working closely with the Friends of Historic Riverside cemetery (a soon-to-be certified Not-For-Profit) in raising awareness of the site’s threatened status and creating a sustainable future for the cemetery.

The Friends of Historic Riverside Cemetery will host their first members meeting on May 17th at the Holy transfiguration of Christ Social Hall (just blocks from the cemetery), after the meeting attendees are invited to tour the cemetery. For more information please visit http://friendsofriversidecemetery.org/.
