2008 Colorado Preserve America Youth Summit
Building on the success of the regional Southeast Colorado Preserve America Youth Summit held in April 2007, the 2008 Colorado Preserve America Youth Summit was held February 6-8, 2008 during the Saving Places conference.

This was the first year that the Colorado Preserve America Youth Summit was incorporated into the Conference. Approximately 87 students toured the Historical Society, walked on the proposed Denver's Heritage Trail, communicated with a panel of preservationists, and were treated to a pizza party at the Governor's Residence. Youth Participants also toured the State Capitol and were greated by many legislators included Speaker of the House Andrew Romanoff.

The Youth Summit provides an opportunity for Colorado students and teachers to interact, exchange information, tour historic properties and meet with preservationists, elected officials, scholars and community leaders to develop ways to engage youth in heritage education and preservation. |
